Advance Open Water
This program is to improve your diving experience by learning new skills in a variety of environments. There is a list of specialties to choose from. When you have 24 logged dives and 4 specialties you receive your Advance Open Water certificate. Upon logging 12 dives specialties can be achieved. Each different diving Specialty requires a certain number of dives in that area. When combining specialties the dive number can be reduced per specialty and combined in a single dive. Example: one specialty 2 dive dives, 2 specialties 4 dives, 3 specialties 5 dives, 4 specialties 6 dives.
List of specialties and Objectives: Price $150 per Specialty or 4 for $500.
Boat diving: How to chose the right boat for your diving needs, familiarize you with boat terminology, regulations, safety and fun diving from boats.
Navigation: Knowledge about the compass, natural navigation, compass courses, improving your general sense of direction giving you confidence and enhancing your diving experiences.
Search and Recovery: Be able to plan recovery operations, what equipment is needed, use different search patterns to find small to large objects and how to lift them to the surface.
Night/Limited visibility: Learn about additional equipment and safety procedures needed for night or limited visibility diving.
Deep Diving: Gain knowledge and experience on procedures of deep diving. Witness the effects of diving to deeper depths, such as pressure change, colour absorption, nitrogen narcosis, air consumption and plan deep dives. 4 Dives required.
Equipment Diving: Become more familiar with your equipment, learn how to maintain and take care of your life support unit, how to choose the correct equipment for the type of diving you will be doing.
